Rockweed

Seaweeds and Macroalgae

Rockweed, also called knotted wrack or Ascophyllum nodosum, is a large, common cold water seaweed and brown alga in the family Fucaceae. It grows only in the northern Atlantic Ocean, along the northwestern coast of Europe including east Greenland and the northeastern coast of North America, and it dominates the intertidal zone in the areas where it grows.
