Home›Species›Everyday Group›Other Frogs And Toads (Anura)GroupOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)This group gathers Amphibians subcategory members that are frogs or toads, order Anura, but that this atlas's own sourced descriptions do not identify with one of the four specific frog families gathered separately above, Bufonidae, Dendrobatidae, Hylidae or Ranidae. It spans very large species such as the goliath frog of Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea, the largest living frog in the world, the African bullfrog of the family Pyxicephalidae, and the American bullfrog, alongside the aquatic, fully webbed African clawed frog of the family Pipidae, used for decades as a standard laboratory research animal, and the bare genus overview Coqui, covering more than twenty small Puerto Rican frog species named onomatopoeically for their loud nighttime call. Every member gathered here is a genuine frog or toad by the broad definition of the order Anura; the split above exists only to keep four especially large or well-known families browsable on their own rather than to draw a biological line excluding anything placed here.FactsOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)SourcesComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)FactsComparisonTaxonomic Rank OrderWell-attested5 1Reproductive ModeWell-attestedOviparous (Egg-Laying) 2Other Frogs And Toads (Anura)Filter Results31 entriesCommon GroupAllOther Frogs And Toads (Anura) (31)TaxonomyAllAnura (29)Hylidae (1)Pelophylax (1)HabitatAllBog (1)Cloud Forest (2)Desert (1)Freshwater (1)Freshwater Marsh (1)Grassland (3)Lake (5)River (8)Steppe (1)Temperate Forest (1)Temperate Rainforest (1)Tropical Rainforest (8)Tundra (1)Xeric Shrubland (1)Conservation StatusAllCritically Endangered (4)Endangered (5)Extinct (1)Least Concern (15)Near Threatened (2)EcosystemAllAmazon Rainforest (2)Atlantic Forest (1)Caspian Sea (1)Valdivian Temperate Rainforest (1)Western Ghats (1)DietAllCarnivore (14)Herbivore (1)Insectivore (7)Omnivore (1)System (Realm)AllFreshwater (9)Terrestrial (23)Terrestrial and Freshwater (3)ThreatsAllBiological Resource Use (1)Pollution (1)Relationship to PeopleAllEcotourism and Research (1)Hunted or Fished (2)Invasive or Introduced Species (4)Kept as Pets (11)Natural Pest Control (2)Used in Traditional Medicine (2)Living or ExtinctAllYes (31)Where It LivesAllAfrica (1)Albania (1)Algeria (1)Argentina (4)Armenia (1)Australia (1)Australia (3)Austria (1)Azerbaijan (1)Bahrain (1)Belarus (1)Belgium (3)Bolivia (1)Bosnia and Herzegovina (1)Botswana (2)Brazil (6)Bulgaria (1)Canada (1)Chile (3)China (3)Colombia (3)Costa Rica (1)Croatia (1)Cuba (1)Cyprus (2)Czechia (1)Denmark (1)Dominica (1)Dominican Republic (1)Ecuador (8)Estonia (1)Eswatini (2)Finland (1)France (3)Georgia (1)Germany (3)Greece (1)Haiti (1)Hungary (2)India (1)Indonesia (2)Israel (3)Italy (3)Jamaica (1)Japan (2)Kazakhstan (1)Kyrgyzstan (1)Lebanon (1)Lesotho (1)Liechtenstein (1)Lithuania (1)Luxembourg (1)Madagascar (1)Malaysia (2)Mexico (2)Moldova (1)Montenegro (1)Mozambique (2)Namibia (2)Netherlands (3)North America (4)North Macedonia (1)Norway (4)Palestine (1)Panama (1)Paraguay (1)Peru (1)Poland (1)Portugal (2)Romania (1)Russia (1)Serbia (1)Seychelles (1)Singapore (1)Slovakia (1)Slovenia (1)South Africa (2)South America (1)South Korea (1)Spain (3)Sri Lanka (1)Sweden (1)Switzerland (2)Syria (1)Tajikistan (1)Thailand (1)Turkey (1)Turkmenistan (1)Ukraine (1)United Kingdom (3)United States (2)Uruguay (1)Uzbekistan (1)Venezuela (1)Zimbabwe (2)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 31African BullfrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Amazon Milk FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)American BullfrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Archey's FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Argentine Horned FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Budgett's FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Bushveld Rain FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Cape Ghost FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)CoquiOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Darwin's FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Gastric-brooding FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Goliath FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Hairy FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Horned Marsupial FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Malayan Horned FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Marsh FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Mountain Chicken FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Phyllonastes colomaOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Pumpkin ToadletOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Purple FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Reticulated Glass FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Seychelles FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Southern Corroboree FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Spring PeeperOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Surinam Horned FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Titicaca Water FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Tomato FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Turtle FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Vietnamese Mossy Frog (Theloderma corticale)Other Frogs And Toads (Anura)Wood FrogOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Xenopus LaevisOther Frogs And Toads (Anura)Sources1.
