The Adamawa turtle dove, Streptopelia hypopyrrha, also called the pink-bellied turtle dove, is a species of dove in the family Columbidae, closely related to, and historically considered identical with, the dusky turtle dove. It has a disjunct distribution across Cameroon, Nigeria, southwestern Chad, and further west in Gambia, Senegal, and Mali, with territorial activity in Togo suggesting it may occur there too, and it lives from sea level to about 1,200 meters in forest edges, wooded ravines, gallery forests, gardens, and farmland. It measures 30 to 31 centimeters long and weighs 147 to 187 grams, with a silver-grey face, blue-grey head, a dark black patch on the shoulder, a pink belly and breast, and brown upperparts edged in grey-brown, males more brightly colored than females and juveniles. It forages on the ground for seeds, sometimes in flocks of up to 60 birds outside the breeding season, and the IUCN assessed it as Least Concern in 2012.
