The red saddleback anemonefish (Amphiprion ephippium) lives in warm Indo-Pacific waters around the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, and Java, sheltering in reef environments and shallow lagoons. Adults reach up to 12 centimeters and are reddish orange with a black saddle shaped patch on the sides; young juveniles show white bars that disappear with maturity, and adults notably lack the white head bar seen in the closely related tomato clownfish. It associates with the bubble tip anemone and the sebae anemone, and the IUCN lists it as Least Concern.
