Pachypodium namaquanum, also known as halfmens or elephant's trunk, is a succulent plant in the dogbane family Apocynaceae, native to the arid, rocky mountains of the Richtersveld in South Africa's Northern Cape and southern Namibia. It grows as a single thick, spine-covered, warty stem typically 2.5 meters tall, occasionally reaching 5 meters, topped with a crown of leaves. Its tubular, velvet-textured flowers appear from August to October. The species is assessed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
