Timber Rattlesnake

Timber Rattlesnake is a venomous pit viper native to the eastern United States, and it is the only rattlesnake species found across most of the populous northeastern states. Adults typically measure 91 to 152 centimeters long with dark crossbands on a yellowish-brown background, and although it has a very toxic bite, it is known for a relatively mild disposition; the species has been extirpated from several northeastern states including Maine, Michigan, Delaware and Rhode Island.
