Psalmopoeus irminia

Psalmopoeus irminia, commonly known as the Venezuelan suntiger, is a species of arboreal tarantula endemic to Venezuela, Guyana and Brazil. It has a black body with vibrant orange markings on its abdomen and legs, though sexually mature males become predominantly grey brown while keeping orange on their tarsi. The species carries stridulatory hairs on its maxillae, a trait absent in other New World tarantulas and diagnostic of the genus Psalmopoeus.
