Softshell Clam

The soft-shell clam, also called the sand gaper and known scientifically as Mya arenaria, is a species of edible saltwater clam, a marine bivalve mollusk in the family Myidae. It is popularly known by names such as steamers, softshells, Ipswich clams and Essex clams.
