Penguin Genera

Penguin genera are the genera of the family Spheniscidae, which Animal Diversity Web labels penguins and lists with six genera. GBIF keeps 33, among them Eudyptes with about 19 descendant taxa, Pygoscelis with about 14, Eudyptula and Spheniscus with about 9 each and Aptenodytes with about 8, together with Palaeospheniscus, Palaeeudyptes, Delphinornis, Archaeospheniscus and Platydyptes, so its list is much longer than the six genera of the other account.
