Casuariiformes is the order of large flightless birds made up of the three living species of cassowary and the single living species of emu, all placed together in the family Casuariidae. Native to Australia and New Guinea, these birds are among the heaviest living birds and, like other ratites, lack a keeled breastbone and cannot fly.
