Meadow pipit

The meadow pipit is a small passerine bird that breeds throughout much of the Palearctic, from southeastern Greenland and Iceland east to just past the Ural Mountains in Russia, and south to central France and Romania, with an isolated population in the Caucasus Mountains. It is migratory across most of its range, wintering in southern Europe, North Africa and southwestern Asia, though it stays resident year round in western Europe, where many birds simply move to the coast or lowlands for the winter.
