Groundcedar

Groundcedar, also called northern running-pine, Diphasiastrum complanatum, is a species of clubmoss, an evergreen, perennial fern ally, native to dry coniferous forests in the colder northerly parts of the world. It was historically classified within the broader genus Lycopodium before that group was split into several more narrowly defined genera, and it produces its spores between June and September.
