The painted reed frog is a small tree frog widespread across sub Saharan Africa, family Hyperoliidae, found clinging to reeds and grasses near still water. Its color pattern is extremely variable even within a single population, ranging from plain to boldly striped or spotted, and males gather in loud choruses to call for mates.
