The Italian striped bug, Graphosoma italicum, also called the minstrel bug, is a shield bug of the family Pentatomidae first described by Muller in 1766. It reaches 8 to 12 millimeters in length with an almost round body colored bright red and marked with wide black longitudinal stripes, six black bands on the pronotum, and black antennae and legs. It is distributed across the Western Palearctic and the entire Mediterranean region, and in recent decades its range has expanded north as far as the North Sea and Baltic coasts of Jutland and southern Finland.
