Ceratopteris richardii is a fern species in the genus Ceratopteris, one of only two genera in the subfamily Parkerioideae of the family Pteridaceae, and it is one of several fern genera adapted to an aquatic existence. It was previously regarded as part of the species Ceratopteris thalictroides.
