All Freshwater Fish Families

Freshwater Fish Families is a Browse By group of the Nature Atlas that gathers fish families whose members live in fresh water, such as the sunfishes and black basses of North America, the gouramis of Asia, the airbreathing catfishes and the freshwater eels, which spend their adult lives in rivers and lakes and migrate to the ocean to spawn. It excludes marine families and the carp and minnow families, which have their own group.
