Flowering Plants

Hemp is the vernacular English name for the plant Cannabis sativa when grown for industrial and practical use. Its fiber and other parts are refined into products including paper, rope, textiles, biodegradable plastics, paint, insulation, biofuel, food and animal feed. Along with bamboo, it is among the fastest growing plants on Earth, and it was among the first plants humans spun into usable fiber, a practice datable to around 50,000 years ago.
