The dicotyledons ('dicots'): flowering plants whose embryos carry two seed leaves (cotyledons) on germination, typically with net-veined leaves, flower parts in multiples of four or five, and a branching root system. Magnoliopsida is the larger of the two great angiosperm classes and includes most broadleaf trees, roses, legumes and daisies.
