Downingia bacigalupii

Downingia bacigalupii, known by the common names Bacigalupi's calicoflower or Bacigalupi's downingia, is a species of flowering plant in the bellflower family Campanulaceae. It is native to the western United States from California to Idaho, where it grows in moist meadows and vernal pool habitats. The annual plant has a branching, erect stem with small diamond-shaped leaves, and its flowers are one to two centimeters wide, with two upper lobes usually dark-veined blue and three lower lobes fused into a surface marked with two bright yellow blotches rimmed in white. Its common name honors the botanist Rimo Bacigalupi, known as Bach.
