Glaucophytes

The glaucophytes are one of the four lineages of the Archaeplastida, or Plantae, which the Tree of Life describes as comprising glaucophytes, red algae, green algae and plants. All of them share a plastid derived from primary endosymbiosis, and molecular work supports their monophyly. GBIF keeps the glaucophytes as the phylum Glaucophyta, placed under the kingdom Plantae, with one class, Glaucophyceae, and under it one order, Glaucocystales, which carries only about 13 descendant taxa, so the group is tiny beside the red algae, green algae and land plants.
