Tamiops

Tamiops, the Asiatic striped squirrels, is a genus of small arboreal squirrels from Asia, with four traditionally recognized species and a fifth, the Minshan striped squirrel, described in 2022. They measure 10 to 13 centimeters in head and body length, with small rounded ears tipped in white hair, and are marked by a black stripe down the middle of the back flanked on each side by two pairs of pale stripes; they are sometimes kept as pets and are easily confused with other striped squirrel genera.
