Thyropteridae

Thyropteridae, the disk-winged bats, is a small family of insectivorous bats found in Central America and tropical South America. They are named for adhesive, suction-cup-like disks on the thumbs and ankles that let them cling to smooth surfaces such as the inside of curled, unfurling leaves, which they use as daytime roosts. Disk-winged bats typically live in small groups that move to a new roosting leaf every day or so as the leaf unfurls.
