Pseudorca

Pseudorca is a genus of oceanic dolphin, family Delphinidae, whose only living species is the false killer whale, Pseudorca crassidens, found in oceans worldwide, mainly in tropical regions; two extinct species, Pseudorca yokoyamai and Pseudorca yuanliensis, are known from Pliocene and Pleistocene fossils in Japan and Taiwan. The common name refers to a skull resembling that of the orca. Reaching a maximum length of about six meters, the false killer whale is highly sociable, forming pods of up to 50 members that sometimes mix with other dolphin species such as the common bottlenose dolphin, and while it typically feeds on squid and fish, it has also been known to prey on other dolphins.
