Pusa

Pusa is a genus of true seal, family Phocidae, comprising the ringed seal, the Caspian seal, the Baikal seal and the Saimaa ringed seal, inhabiting Arctic and subarctic regions as well as the landlocked Caspian Sea and Lake Baikal, with a range spanning Russia, Finland, Scandinavia, Britain, Greenland, Canada, the United States, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Japan. The genus was separated from Phoca, though some sources still recognize Phoca as an acceptable synonym; the Caspian seal and Saimaa ringed seal are both classified as endangered.
