Eulemur, also called true lemurs or brown lemurs, is a genus of 12 species in the family Lemuridae, living exclusively on Madagascar. They are medium sized primates measuring 30 to 50 centimeters in length, weighing 2 to 4 kilograms, with long reddish brown fur and, in some species such as the black lemur, marked sexual dimorphism in coloration. True lemurs are predominantly diurnal forest dwellers, adept climbers, and live socially in groups of two to fifteen members.
