Suidae is the pig family of even-toed ungulates, comprising several genera native to Africa, Asia and Europe, including the genus Sus, which contains the wild boar and its domesticated descendant, the domestic pig. Members are omnivorous, stout-bodied mammals with elongated snouts ending in a cartilaginous disc used for rooting in soil.
