Aotidae is a family of New World monkeys represented today by a single living genus, Aotus, commonly known as night monkeys, owl monkeys or douroucoulis. These nocturnal primates comprise eleven species distributed across Panama and much of South America, inhabiting forest habitats up to about 2,400 meters in elevation.
