Nycticebus

Nycticebus, the slow lorises, is a genus of nocturnal strepsirrhine primates in the family Lorisidae, with at least eight currently valid species after the pygmy slow loris was moved to its own genus Xanthonycticebus. They have a round head, narrow snout and large eyes, with arms and legs of nearly equal length and a long flexible torso, and range across Southeast Asia from Bangladesh and Northeast India in the west to the Sulu Archipelago in the Philippines in the east, and from Yunnan province in China to Java in the south. Slow lorises are unusual among primates and rare among mammals generally for having a toxic bite, produced by licking a sweat gland on the arm and activating the toxin with saliva; most species are listed Vulnerable or Endangered due to the wildlife trade and habitat loss.
