Diplogale

Diplogale is a monospecific genus of civet in the family Viverridae containing a single species, Hose's palm civet (Diplogale hosei), endemic to Borneo, documented in Sarawak and Sabah in Malaysian Borneo and in Brunei, with records also from Kalimantan. It has dark brown to blackish brown upperparts and white or slightly brownish white underparts, dark rings around the eyes, very long white facial whiskers and a large, flesh colored, wet snout, measuring about 472 to 540 millimeters in head-body length with partly webbed feet and weighing roughly 1.4 to 1.5 kilograms. It is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List because of habitat destruction and degradation, with a population decline estimated at more than 30 percent over the last three generations.
