Peramelemorphia is the order of marsupials containing the bandicoots and bilbies, found only in Australia and New Guinea. Members typically have a plump, arch backed body, a long tapering snout, large upright ears and thin legs and tail, and range in weight from about 140 grams to 4 kilograms, with most species weighing around a kilogram.
