The Aru flying fox is a critically endangered species of megabat found on the Aru Islands in Indonesia, described by Wilhelm Peters in 1867. Formerly considered a subspecies of the black-bearded flying fox, it is poorly known and has not been recorded since the 19th century, and is classified as Critically Endangered by the IUCN and listed on CITES Appendix II.
