Bezoar ibex

The bezoar ibex is a wild goat subspecies native to the montane forests of Anatolia, the Caucasus and the Zagros Mountains, with populations across Turkey, Georgia, Chechnya, Daghestan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran and Iraq. Males weigh around 60 kilograms and carry exceptionally long horns, sometimes exceeding 1.4 meters, the longest relative to body weight of any wild goat. Both sexes carry a distinctive black stripe running from the spine across the shoulders, limbs and neck, and males show dark brown summer coats while females are reddish gold.
