The long-snouted bat is a species of bat in the family Phyllostomidae and the only species in the genus Platalina. It is endemic to northern Peru and northern Chile, feeds almost exclusively on the nectar and fruit of columnar cacti, and though rare has a wide distribution of at least 25 populations. It is listed as near threatened because habitat loss has reduced its primary food source.
