Tamandua is a genus of anteaters in the family Myrmecophagidae with two species, the southern tamandua and the northern tamandua. They live in forests and grasslands, are semiarboreal with partially prehensile tails, and mainly eat ants and termites, though they occasionally eat bees, beetles and insect larvae, and will eat fruit and meat in captivity.
