Population Trend

Population trend shows whether a species overall numbers are believed to be increasing, decreasing or stable, or whether the trend is simply not known. This is a separate measure from conservation status: a species can be common today and still be declining, or rare and holding steady. The trend recorded here follows the most recent assessment cited on that species own page.
