Atlantic razor clam, Ensis leei, is a large edible marine bivalve of the family Pharidae native to the Atlantic coast of North America, from Canada south to South Carolina, also known as the bamboo clam or American jackknife clam. Its long, narrow, elongated shell resembles a folding straight razor, the source of both its common name and of several unrelated razor clam species found elsewhere. The species was introduced to Europe at the end of the 1970s and has since become extremely abundant there in suitable sandy habitats.
