In beekeeping, bee brood refers to the eggs, larvae and pupae of honey bees as they develop inside the cells of a hive. In movable-frame hives such as the Langstroth hive, a frame given over mostly to these developing bees is called a brood frame, typically holding some stored pollen and nectar or honey in its upper corners alongside cells at various stages of brood development or left empty. During the brood-rearing season the colony reuses cells as bees emerge from them, converting the same cells to raise further brood or to store honey and pollen depending on the hive's needs.
