Land hermit crab genera are the genera of the family Coenobitidae, which Animal Diversity Web labels land hermit crabs and GBIF places in the order Decapoda. The family is small. GBIF keeps two genera in it, Coenobita with about 32 descendant taxa and Birgus with about 2, out of about 36 descendant taxa for the whole family, while Animal Diversity Web lists Coenobita as the genus under the family heading.
