Scalidophoran Phyla is a Browse By group of the Nature Atlas that gathers the small marine animal phyla placed in the Scalidophora, the animals whose head, called the introvert, bears rings of spines named scalids, here the mud dragons of the phylum Kinorhyncha and the corset animals of the phylum Loricifera. The priapulid worms, the third phylum usually placed with them, keep their own group, and some genome studies question whether the Scalidophora form a single branch of the animal family tree.
