Korarchaeota

Korarchaeota is a phylum of archaea known mainly from environmental DNA recovered from hot spring sediments rather than from organisms grown in laboratory culture. It represents an ancient, deeply branching archaeal lineage that has proven difficult to isolate and study directly.
