All Monocot Families

Monocot families are the families of the class Liliopsida, which GBIF divides into 11 orders, the largest by descendant taxa being Asparagales with about 64,714, Poales with about 43,623, Alismatales with about 8,643, Zingiberales with about 5,185 and Arecales with about 5,063. The largest families are Orchidaceae in Asparagales with about 46,786 descendant taxa, Poaceae in Poales with about 22,826, Cyperaceae in Poales with about 11,296 and Araceae in Alismatales with about 6,927.
