Iguana Genera

Iguana genera are the genera of the lizard family Iguanidae, which Animal Diversity Web defines narrowly as eight genera and approximately 35 species of relatively large, dry-adapted lizards. They range through much of tropical America, up into southern temperate North America, throughout the Antilles, on the Galapagos and in Fiji. Genera include Cyclura, Ctenosaura, Sauromalus, Amblyrhynchus, Iguana, Dipsosaurus, Conolophus and Brachylophus, which may be terrestrial, rock dwelling or arboreal, and the marine iguana, Amblyrhynchus cristatus, spends much of its time in salt water.
