The lined day gecko is a diurnal lizard native to Madagascar and introduced to Reunion, commonly measuring 10 to 15 centimeters in total length. Males are more vividly colored than females, with a medium green base, red markings on the lower back and head, dark lateral stripes and sometimes a blue tail, while females are duller. It inhabits humid subtropical sites along Madagascar's northern and eastern coast at low and mid elevations, and is rated Least Concern overall, though some of its lesser known subspecies may be at greater risk.
