Maypop

Flowering Plants

Passiflora incarnata, commonly known as maypop, purple passionflower, true passionflower, wild apricot, or wild passion vine, is a fast-growing perennial vine with climbing or trailing stems in the passionflower genus Passiflora. Its large, intricate flowers have prominent styles and stamens, and as one of the hardiest passionflower species it grows both as a wildflower in the southern United States and in cultivation for its edible fruit and its striking bluish purple blooms.
