The Argentine black and white tegu is a species of lizard in the family Teiidae and the largest of the tegu lizards. An omnivorous species, it inhabits tropical rainforests, savannas, and semideserts across eastern and central South America, native to southern and southeastern Brazil, Uruguay, eastern Paraguay, Bolivia, and Argentina.
