Bird's-claw Beard-moss is a species of moss in the family Pottiaceae. Its color is a distinctive bright yellow green, shared by few similar upright growing mosses besides some Trichostomum species. Its leaves always look opaque because of densely papillose, wart textured leaf cells, and each leaf is parallel sided along most of its length. In dry conditions the leaves twist and curl around the stem, while in moist conditions they spread outward.
