Black Knot Fungus

Apiosporina morbosa, also known as Dibotryon morbosum, is a plant-pathogenic fungus and the causal agent of black knot. It affects trees in the genus Prunus, such as cherry, plum, apricot and chokecherry, in North America, producing rough black growths that encircle and kill infested branches while also providing habitat for insects.
