Death's-head Hawkmoth is the common name for any of three moth species in the genus Acherontia: one found throughout Africa and Europe, the other two in Asia. These large nocturnal moths are easily recognized by the vaguely human skull-shaped pattern of markings on the thorax, and all three species are large, with brown and yellow or orange coloring and fairly similar size and life cycle.
