Dilated scalewort, Frullania dilatata, is a small leafy liverwort of the family Frullaniaceae that grows as a thin, closely appressed mat on tree bark, its tiny overlapping leaves each bearing a small pouch-like lobe characteristic of the genus. It is widespread across Europe, including Ireland, Germany and the United Kingdom, typically found epiphytically on the trunks and branches of a range of tree species.
