Drugstore beetle

The drugstore beetle (Stegobium paniceum), also called the bread beetle or biscuit beetle, is a small brown beetle that infests a wide variety of dried plant products and is the sole living species in its genus. It maintains a symbiotic relationship with a yeast-like fungus, transmitted from female to larvae through the oviduct, and occurs worldwide with higher prevalence in warm climates. It is frequently confused with the similarly sized cigarette beetle, though it can be told apart by its clubbed antennae and longitudinally grooved body, compared with the cigarette beetles serrated antennae and smooth body.
